Traffic Rajesh Pillai’s Hindi remake of his breakout Malayalam hit in 2011 is being released in less than happy circumstances. Pillai died at the age of 41 from a liver ailment a day after the release of his third movie, Vettah. In Traffic, an accident at a busy intersection links various lives. There is a movie star (Prosenjit) with a daughter who has a heart condition, the family of a critically injured young man who must agree to allow his heart to be transplanted into the girl, a corrupt traffic constable (Manoj Bajpayee) who gets the chance to redeem himself, and a police officer (Jimmy Shergill) who makes the transplant possible by ensuring a traffic-free green corridor through a busy thoroughfare.
