Nawazuddin Siddiqui is “16.66% composed of all religions” and “100% an artist”. The celebrated actor has posted a video in which he makes a simple but strong point about national integration. The not particularly profound but well-timed message comes at a time when cows are provoking murderous attacks on human beings and decades-old shared cultural practices are being threatened by Hindu supremacist sentiment. Siddiqui, whose upcoming films include the Sridevi-starrer Mom, the dance drama Munna Michael and Nandita Das’s biopic Manto, has declared which side he is on (it isn’t the same one as Abhijeet, for sure).
