Lionsgate has launched The World of Hunger Games, the world’s first Hunger Games theme park in Dubai, reported Variety.
The production company has collaborated with Dubai Parks and Resorts to unveil the amusement park, which draws from Suzanne Collins’s bestselling trilogy and the subsequent movie adaptations. The story is set in a dystopic future in which the political capital Panem organises a fight-to-the-finish reality games show. Participant Katniss Everdeen (played by Jennifer Lawrence in the films) becomes an unlikely figure of protest against the dictatorial regime.
“We are thrilled that Lionsgate and ‘The Hunger Games’ are a part of Motiongate Dubai,” said Tim Palen, Lionsgate’s chief brand officer. “Together we have created an interactive experience that allows fans from around the world a chance to immerse themselves in the world that Suzanne Collins created in an authentic, fun and exciting way.” Apart from merchandise, the theme park comprises a Panem Aerial Tour, a Capitol Bullet Train and a percussion show called Coal Miner’s Clash.
