David S Goyer, who co-wrote Christopher Nolan’s Dark Knight trilogy, is in talks to direct Sony’s He-Man film Masters of the Universe, according to The Hollywood Reporter. The movie is scheduled to be released on December 18, 2019.
The film will revolve around Prince Adam and his alter ego He-Man, who defends the planet Eternia from the villainous Skeletor. Based on Mattel’s set of toys, the He-Man franchise includes an animated TV series (1983-85), which was also popular in India, and a live-action movie, which was released in 1987.
Goyer has directed four films, including Blade: Trinity (2004), and the supernatural horror The Unborn (2009). Apart from Nolan’s Batman movies, he has also written DC Entertainment’s Superman film Man of Steel (2013), and its sequel, Batman Vs Superman: Dawn of Justice (2016).
