The popular television show Khichdi will be merged with Sarabhai Vs Sarabhai for its upcoming season, Mumbai Mirror reported. According to a statement by JD Majethia, who produces both the shows, the cast of Sarabhai Vs Sarabhai will be featured alongside the Khichdi cast.
Khichdi chronicles the misadventures of a large and eccentric Gujarati Parekh family, who live in an old mansion in Mumbai. The show made its debut in 2002, inspiring a spin-off television series titled Instant Khichdi, and Khichdi: The Movie (2010). Sarabhai Vs Sarabhai (2004-2006) revolves around an upper-class Gujarati family living in South Mumbai. The show returned as a web series on Hotstar in May 2017.
“Getting both the shows together will certainly leave the audiences asking for more,” Majethia said in a statement. “It will be a treat for the audience to see what happens when the mad-hatter Parekhs meet the upper middle class Maya and her family, The Sarabhais. A laughter riot for sure.”
