Hindi film actor Kranti Prakash Jha (MS Dhoni, Goliyon Ki Rasleela Ram-Leela) will play yoga guru and businessman Ramdev in a series that will be aired on the entertainment channel Discovery Jeet, reported the Mumbai Mirror tabloid.
Produced by Ajay Devgn, Swami Ramdev: Ek Sangharsh will trace the life and achievements of the yoga guru, including his earlier years. National Film award-winning child actor Naman Jain (Chillar Party, Raanjhanaa) will play the younger Ramdev in the television show, which will be one of the headliners on the channel when it gets launched in January.
“The show has the potential to become one of the most talked about on Indian television,” Devgn told the tabloid in an interview. “We wanted a fresh face for the title role, someone who looks like the real-life Ramdev and be able to emulate his mannerisms convincingly on screen. I’m happy that Kranti is ready to walk the extra mile.”
