“Everyone has their own thing,” Riz Ahmed says in the trailer of Venom amidst glimpses of the slimy alien symbiote from the Spider-Man universe. “We all have our own problems, our own issues, our own demons,” the voiceover booms as Tom Hardy’s Eddie Brock screams in terror.
Directed by Ruben Fleischer (Zombieland), the Spider-Man spin-off tells the story of Marvel’s anti-hero Eddie Brock, who turns into Venom when he encounters the deadly symbiote. The character was played by Topher Grace in Sam Raimi’s Spider-Man 3 (2007).
Venom also stars Michelle Williams and Reid Scott and will be released on October 5.
