Amazon Prime Video’s original series Inside Edge has been renewed for a second season, the streaming platform announced on Wednesday. Created by Karan Anshuman, the first season delved into the politics of the cricketing world with an emphasis on T20 cricket team Mumbai Mavericks, which plays in the Powerplay League, a fictional tournament that resembles the Indian Premier League. The second season is scheduled for 2019 in Hindi, Tamil and Telugu.

The announcement hints that the identity of the powerful Bhaisaab, who pulled several strings from behind the scenes in the first season, will finally be revealed. Produced in partnership with Excel Media & Entertainment and featuring Richa Chada, Tanuj Virwani, Vivek Oberoi, Angad Bedi and Sanjay Suri in key roles, Inside Edge was launched in July 2017 and was a big success for Amazon.

“We are thrilled to announce an all-new season of Amazon’s first Indian Prime Original, Inside Edge,” Amazon Prime Video India Content Director Vijay Subramaniam said in a press release. “The first season of Inside Edge received a tremendously positive response. We are happy to work with Excel Media & Entertainment again on Inside Edge Season 2.”

Amazon Prime Video will also reportedly collaborate with Excel, the company run by Farhan Akhtar and Ritesh Sidhwani, on Mirzapur and Made in Heaven. The latter will be co-produced with Tiger Baby Films, set up by Zoya Akhtar and Honey Irani.
