Amazon CEO Jeff Bezos has revealed that the total count of Amazon Prime members across the world has exceeded 100 million, reported The Wrap. Bezos revealed the information in his message to shareholders. His revelation has ended years of speculation on the membership count of Prime, which was launched by the Seattle-based company 13 years ago.

What does the count also reveal? “That’s nearly $10 billion a year in membership – not even counting the items customers are actually buying on Amazon,” said the publication. “In related news, the company boasts a $740 billion market cap.”

Bezos also gave out consumption pattern data for Amazon Prime: “In 2017 Amazon shipped more than five billion items with Prime worldwide, and more new members joined Prime than in any previous year – both worldwide and in the U.S. Members in the U.S. now receive unlimited free two-day shipping on over 100 million different items.”
