Sophia Lillis, the actress from the 2017 horror film It, will headline the film adaptation of the 1930 detective novel Nancy Drew and The Hidden Staircase, Deadline reported.

The film will be co-produced by Ellen DeGeneres, Jeff Kleeman, and Chip Diggins. In the second volume in the popular Nancy Drew series, the teenage amateur detective tries to clear the name of two sisters by solving a murder case.

Warner Bros produced an adaptation with the same name in 1939. In 2007, a movie starring Emma Roberts as the detective was released.
