Jennifer Aniston will play United States of America’s first woman and lesbian president in Netflix’s upcoming television movie First Ladies, reports said. Tig Notaro will play her wife and first lady.
The political comedy will trace the life of President Beverly Nicholson and her wife Kasey after they move into the White House. It reportedly aims to show that “that behind every great woman is another great woman”. The film has been written by Notaro and her wife Stephanie Allynne.
Notaro will be next seen in her original comedy special Tig Notaro Happy to Be Here, which will make its debut on Neflix on May 22. She will also direct Ellen DeGeneres’s upcoming Netflix original comedy special, which marks the talk show host’s return to comedy after 15 years.
First Ladies marks Aniston’s second collaboration with the streaming platform. She is set to appear opposite Adam Sandler in the Netflix comedy Murder Mystery. Aniston will next be seen in Anne Fletcher’s musical comedy Dumplin’.
