In the first trailer of An Actor Prepares, a crusty father is forced to take a road trip with his estranged son, leading to sarcastic quips, bitter arguments and several adventures. Directed by Steve Clark, An Actor Prepares was introduced for international sale at the 2016 Cannes Film Festival. Gravitas Ventures has acquired the rights to distribute it in North America, Variety reported.
Atticus (Jeremy Irons), a famous 70-year-old actor, suffers from a heart attack a few days before his daughter’s wedding and is debarred from flying. He has to be driven across the country to the venue by his son Adam (Jack Huston), who resents his father’s philandering ways. The cast includes Ben Schwartz, Mamie Gummer, Megalyn Echikunwoke, Poorna Jagannathan, Will Patton and Matthew Modine.
An Actor Prepares will be released in North America on August 31.
