An unconventional road trip brings three lost souls together in Akarsh Khurana’s Karwaan. Dulquer Salmaan’s Avinash is forced to travel to Kochi to retrieve his deceased father’s body. The driver of the vehicle is Shaukat (Irrfan Khan), a wry and acerbic driver whose mouth moves faster than his van. En route, they are joined by Tanya (Mithila Palkar).

The slice of life comedy-drama has been produced by Ronnie Screwvala. The film marks the Bollywood debut of Malayalam star Salmaan. It also features Kriti Kharbanda and Amala Akkineni and Priti Rathi Gupta. The film will be released on August 3.

Irrfan was last seen in Abhinay Deo’s black comedy drama Blackmail (2018). He will next appear in Marc Turtletaub’s Puzzle, which was premiered at the Sundance Film Festival and will be released on July 27. The actor is undergoing treatment for a neuroendocrine tumour.

Palkar has previously appeared in the webseries Little Things and Girl in The City and Varun Narvekar’s Marathi film Muramba (2017).

Sakmaan’s last appearance was in Nag Ashwin’s Mahanati (2018), the critically acclaimed biography of legendary actress Savitri.
