Mani Ratnam’s latest movie Chekka Chivantha Vaanam will be released on September 28, tweeted co-producer Lyca Productions. The multi-starrer is said to be a crime saga set in Chennai. The heavy-duty cast includes Vijay Sethupathi, Arvind Swami, Silambarasan, Jyothika, Aishwarya Rajesh, Aditi Rao Hydari, Jayasudha and Prakash Raj. The music is by longtime Ratnam collaborator AR Rahman.

The Telugu version is titled Nawab. This is Ratnam’s 26th film as director.
