Watch: Ahead of the FedEx-Nadal clash in Delhi, the Spanish star may be getting his magic back
He's had a miserable year, but Rafael Nadal showed off that trademark windmill fist bump in Manila.
As the International Premier Tennis League carnival moves to Delhi, the national capital is waiting with bated breath for the much-anticipated Rafael Nadal-Roger Federer clash on Saturday. Nadal is part of the Indian Aces team which will face off against the UAE Royals, who count Federer as their icon player.
Federer has been on a redemption song through this year, while it’s been a very difficult season for Nadal. But going by Nadal’s recent form in the above video, it seems the Spaniard may be getting his mojo back.
On December 8, Nadal and his partner Ivan Dodig played a doubles match against the Philippine Mavericks’ Richard Gasquet and Edouard Roger-Vasselin. The highlight of the game was an incredible 22-shot rally between the teams, finished by a impressive down-the-line winner from Nadal followed by the trademark windmill fist bump that world tennis has been missing recently.
The Indian Aces will hope that Nadal has regained some of his form ahead of their clash against the UAE Royals, because Federer looks the overwhelming favourite. The Swiss supremo has had an impressive year, only bettered by Novak Djokovic. However, the Nadal-FedEx rivalry is legendary and the crowd turning up at the Indira Gandhi Indoor Stadium on Saturday will hope they get to witness another chapter in it.
