Watch: Sepp Blatter gets suspended, shows no shame, and calls himself a "punching ball"
The FIFA boss remains unrepentant and defiant, even signing off with "I'll be back".
Finally, former FIFA chief Sepp Blatter and his fierce rival Michael Platini have been banned from all football-related activities for eight years by the FIFA ethics committee. Both the men were accused of a £1.3m ($2m) “disloyal” transaction in 2011.
Even if there were any doubts about why Blatter was banned, the video above should make it clear that it came none too late. In an extraordinary Press Conference after the verdict, Blatter came out all guns blazing, defending himself with a range of bizarre comments and ending with a Terminator-esque “I’ll be back”.
Sample some of the comments he made:
Blatter: "I'm really sorry. I am sorry that I am still somewhere a punching ball and in sorry for football. I'm sorry for FIFA"

Blatter: "But I'm also sorry about me - how I am treated in this world of humanity..."

Blatter on 8-year ban "This decision has put a new tsunami inside FIFA ... it has created a lot of collateral danger"

Of course, this is not the first time Blatter has courted controversy this way – back in July 2015, he was forced to halt a Press Conference when comic performer Simon Brodkin memorably threw a pile of fake banknotes on him.
