Watch: Brazil has a new football superstar – a three-year old dog
The collie's impressive ball-control skills have made him a sensation on social media.
Brazil is known for producing footballing superstars. And after Neymar, it looks like the country's found its next one – a shaggy, adorable three-year old border collie in Rio de Janiero named Scotch who can head the ball as well as anyone else. Probably better.
Videos surfaced of Scotch showing amazing ball control while playing with his owner and his friends on a beach in Rio de Janiero. It instantly went viral and he became a huge sensation with his own YouTube and Instagram accounts.
Scotch's owner, Felipe Eckhardt said he was overwhelmed with the popularity his pet was getting and expressed the hope that Scotch dog would play with Neymar one day and get even more famous.
However, there might be a spanner in the works: the New York Post has reported that Brazil had recently come up with legislation that bans dogs from beaches...which means Scotch will have to find a new place to show off his amazing skills.
"It is a shame that just as he has achieved this great fame as a canine footballer, he’s been shown the red card," owner Eckhard was quoted as saying.
