If India thought they could blast out an opening win in the 2016 World Twenty20, they were given a rude wake-up call on Tuesday. A spirited New Zealand team swept the rug from under their feet with a famous 47-run victory in Nagpur.

If you can't believe that India lost 10 wickets for just 79 runs – the country's second-lowest total in T20s – just watch the video above. Stumped, caught in the field, and leg before wicket, the Indian batsmen actually could not stand up to the Kiwi spinners. Yes, spinners.

With only 205 runs scored (New Zealand: 126/7; India: 79 all out), the focus, naturally, was on the wickets. And here they all are.

It was not definitely the kind of start Mahendra Singh Dhoni would have wanted. With a match against Pakistan coming up on Saturday, India will need to make a quick comeback.
