Here's what a cheetah sees when it's running at full speed (and it's the fastest land animal)
A zoo in Cincinnati straps a GoPro camera to a cheetah to see what what it looks like. Wow.
Ever wanted to know what a cheetah sees when running at full speed? A new video by the Cincinnati Zoo puts you right into the heart of the action.
With a GoPro harnessed to the back of one of the cheetahs in the zoo, viewers can feel what it's like to be the big cat. Cheetahs can reach speeds of up to 112 kilometres per hour, the fastest of all land creatures.
In real time, the video is almost impossible to watch without losing a sense of equilibrium. Things aren't much better in slow motion either, as the animal is still very fast, and the whole body moves, though the head remains as steady as can be.
The cheetah, who is friendly around humans beings and had no problems with the harness, is named Savannah and has been hand raised at the zoo.
"We think this might be the first time this has been accomplished with a cheetah," the zoo said.
Here's some from the point of view of an eagle. Think of what Sinbad the Sailor saw when perched on the Roc.
