First TV channels actually thought that All India Bakchod comedian Tanmay Bhat was asking Snapchat for money, after his controversial video making fun of Sachin Tendulkar and Lata Mangeshkar went viral. Then they suddenly stopped and realised, they also have to explain (and find out) what Snapchat is in the first place.

Bhat used the instant messaging app, which is mostly used by millennials and is generally though to be incomprehensible to everyone else, to make his comedy video. Snapchat has a face-swap feature, allowing anyone to transpose their face onto someone else's, which is how Bhat was able to turn himself into both Mangeshkar and Tendulkar for his video.

Snapchat lets you do lots of other little tricks, some of which this anchor, from ABP news, decided to explore exactly how the application works.

She ended up even using a picture of Sachin Tendulkar to appropriate his face as well, although instead of Bhat's comedy, she only used the batsman's looks to give people a guide on how to use Snapchat.

Meanwhile, over on Times Now, an unusually mellow Arnab Goswami was also wondering what Snapchat actually was – only to turn even that bit of humour into a bit of angry nation-wants-to-know questioning.

"I was also trying to find out what Snapchat is... I don't understand. Look at this generation, they start laughing. Snapchat is an instant message and multimedia application used in the smartphone age, in fact the video is deleted in a maximum period of 24 hours. Right? And your government is very concerned about Snapchat. Now I'll tell you what drought is," Goswami said to a representative of the Bharatiya Janata Party. "What should be the concern of the Maharashtra government, Snapchat or drought?"
