Watch: Sebastian Vettel blames 'suicidal seagulls' for not winning Canadian Grand Prix
Lewis Hamilton was surprised by his victory, while his Mercedes teammate Nico Rosberg was 'pissed off'.
By winning the Canadian Grand Prix on Monday, Lewis Hamilton is just nine points behind leader and Mercedes teammate Nico Rosberg, who finished fifth in the race. Hamilton himself seemed surprised by his comeback as Rosberg led by 43 points just two races ago. Hamilton said, "I could never have predicted that. If I was to put money down. I would never have tried to predict that. I thought Monaco might have been a one-off, a fluke kind of thing. But the race was not a fluke, it was a great strong race." This was after the world champion had had a poor start in three previous races because of technical problems.
Ferrari's Sebastian Vettel took an almost instant lead to start the race, while the two Mercedes drivers, Rosberg and Hamilton, went toe to toe behind him. The tussle ended with Rosberg being forced to go on the grass. The German said, "Sebastian had a great start, I had a decent one, Lewis had slow one. In Spain I went for the outside and made it work. Here, I went for the outside again and he did a real hard racing maneuvre and I was off. I was pissed off at the time but that's racing."

Vettel cited an outside interference as one reason for his loss, "There were two seagulls. I think it was a couple that wanted to commit suicide. It wasn’t fair! I brake for animals, Lewis doesn’t."

With 14 more races to go, there will be plenty of chances for Rosberg to extend his lead and for Vettel to catch up, hopefully saving a few more "suicidal seagulls" in the process.
