Has Donald Trump mellowed already? Is he being generous in victory? Or is this new attitude something that raises more questions?

Trump no longer thinks Hillary Clinton should be assassinated, or that she is on drugs. In his first interview after winning the elections, he said her phone call conceding the elections was “a lovely call”. But “she couldn’t have been nicer.”

Bill Clinton, too “couldn’t have been more gracious,” says Trump in a burst of magnanimity. And that he might think about calling Bill Clinton for advice, just as he plans to do with outgoing US President Barack Obama.

Trump had also promised to immediately repeal and replace Obamacare – Obama’s healthcare plan. In the interview, though, he says he will keep some components of Obamacare. And that there will be no gap between the old and the new plans.

“That’s what I do, I do a good job, I know how to do this job,” Trump declares. At least he hasn’t made a u-turn on his confidence.
