Stephen Colbert called out Donald Trump on The Late Show recently for tweeting too much after winning the US Presidential election.

He ridiculed the president-elect for stating that he’s the only one who knows who’ll make it to his cabinet, adding, “”Only Trump the Magnificent knows who the finalists are – he’s going to reveal the winners in a dramatic ceremony in the Rose Garden.”

Colbert can’t fathom why Trump is on a tweeting spree. “I think for the president-elect to even be tweeting at all is just weird,” he said. He also played a clip for viewers in which a member from Trump’s transition team stated that Trump is feeling pressured and perhaps turns to Twitter to relax.

“Is this really how we’re going to treat the commander-in-chief? He likes it. It’s fun. Let him play with the button; it calms him down,” said Colbert, adding that he doesn’t believe the theory one bit.

He also commented that Twitter actually lets Trump evade members of the press online as well in the real world outside. Reporters are required to be with the president in case of a catastrophic event, he said, and concluded, “I’m sorry – in case something else catastrophic happens.”
