Watch: This wild fantasy short film imagines how Mexicans see Donald Trump's wall
Its surrealist descriptions could be closer to reality than we think.
US President Donald Trump’s unrealistic plan to make a wall on the border between Mexico and the United States is close to becoming reality. A video made during his campaign, using elements of dystopian fiction to show what living as an immigrant was like at the time, has become all the more resonant after the US president’s executive order to build the wall.
In the short film, which takes place on the US-Mexico border, Trump operates a gigantic robot that looks like him and shoots missiles from his, well, nether regions. Nothing works to stop him and he destroys everything until a completely unexpected hero emerges.
Titled M.A.M.O.N. – Latino vs. Donald Trump, the film was made by Argentinian filmmaker Ale Damiani.
