Watch: This Indian composition pays homage to the eight musicians who went down with the Titanic
After ‘Inception’, ‘Skyfall’ and ‘The Dark Knight’, the Indian Jam Project is back with its latest musical tribute.
Six Indian classical musicians have team up to pay homage to the eight-member band that was aboard the RMS Titanic on its fateful maiden journey. The Indian Jam Project, spearheaded by Tushar Lall, used the soundtrack from James Cameron’s 1997 film to honour the musicians. As was seen in the film too, the musicians kept playing with the aim to calm the passengers down for as long as they could and all of them went down with the ship.
In the music video (above) titled Titanic Music Tribute, Lall, who composed and arranged the track, can be seen on the keyboard. Other musicians include Manas Kumar on the violin, Prasad Rahane on the flute and Tejas Vinchurkar (tabla) and Shrinath Somayaji (mridangam) on percussion. The music comprises a medley of the film’s songs My Heart Will Go On by Celine Dion and Toss the Feathers by The Corrs.
