Watch: Radhe Maa asks reporter to ‘transfer’ (or translate) ‘beauty lies in the eye of the beholder’
Challenges in translation and threats: all in a day’s work
“Spiritual” leader Radhe Maa showed a new side to her pedagogy by asking a reporter at a gathering she was addressing to “transfer” her statements from English. The first statement: “The Ramayana tells us that Lord Rama returned this day to Ayodhya after fourteen years in exile.”
This was followed by a second challenge: to translate, for some reason, the sentence “Beauty lies in the eye of the beholder.” The student, who, she had said, was under the evil influence of Shani (Saturn), appeared to have passed the translation exams, but ran foul of Radhe Maa in other ways.
At the same gathering, at the Kalki Mahotsav in Sambhal, Uttar Pradesh, Radhe Maa also lost her temper in response to a reporter’s question about certain charges levied against her, warning the journalist that she would “see him” in 15 days’ time.
