After proving that they can shake a leg and give Hindi film actors a run for their money, policemen from New Zealand have yet again broken the internet. This time it’s a new promotional video (above), released with the aim of recruiting young people into the New Zealand Police.

Titled World’s Most Entertaining Police Recruitment Video, it definitely lives up to its name. Featuring over 70 real women and men of the force, the police band, police cats and helicopters, the advertisement provides a glimpse into the life of police officers in New Zealand. There are over thirty different careers to choose from, including ones which require dashing from danger and tumbling through cars and into swimming pools, that is not all.

Beyond just fitness and agility, the department is on the hunt for people who have a sense of empathy. The best example of this is showcased in a hilarious moment in the advertisement when a police officer, presumably chasing a criminal, stops to help an old man cross the road (don’t miss the dance here).

Flowing from scene to scene with cinematic ease, the action-packed video also subtly displays the ethnic and gender diversity in the police department. The Commissioner of New Zealand Police, Mike Bush, said: “Police want to attract more women, Māori, Pacific Islanders, and people from all other ethnicities and backgrounds to better reflect the communities we serve.”
