Watch: Guess whom Disney’s animatronic Donald Trump robot resembles
Some suggest the company had a different outcome to the US Presidential polls in mind.
Disney has revealed their new addition to the Hall of Presidents at Walt Disney World, and the reaction isn’t what the company might have expected. The new animatronic to join the league of American presidents was, of course, a robot of President Donald Trump (above).
It’s just that the resemblance to Trump is far from uncanny. Strangely, the figure looks more like Hillary Clinton. And therein hangs a tale – perhaps.
The animatronic version of Trump does sport the signature hair, the ill-fitting suit, and the classic low-hanging tie, and closely imitates his hand gestures. The robot even delivered an inspiring speech, perhaps more convincing than any of Trump’s actual speeches so far.
However, the similarities with Clinton have sparked the theory that Disney had originally made a robot for Hillary Clinton, expecting her to win the elections, and simply modified it for Trump.
Okay, is it my imagination or does the Hall of Presidents Trump robot look like they had to hastily repurpose an animatronic Hillary Clinton? pic.twitter.com/FN5lpoFloJ

Here me out on this. Clearly Disney had Hilary's robot ready to go and then they had to try and make it look like Trump. Don't hate me. This is just a necessary and painful fact we all need to deal with. pic.twitter.com/biSirfwE59

I'm like 90% sure they made a Clinton robot then got surprised Trump won and just put a Trump wig on the Cinton bot. pic.twitter.com/bpK99zzbrF

Meanwhile, someone took the trouble of dubbing some of Trump’s actual speeches on the video featuring the robot.

#Disney unveiled animatronic Trump at Hall of Presidents. They had to use an old pair of hands from one of the “It’s a Small World” kids.

Trump's animatronic figure for the Disney Hall of Presidents looks like it was carved out of Play-Doh and left out in the Florida heat, where it was discovered by a dying albino squirrel who settled atop its head and has been left there to decompose. pic.twitter.com/3vMZUTEylx
