Spot the difference: This is how a Bollywood dance is performed in Finland
Even Finland’s Prime Minister was impressed.
You’re going to be as tickled by this as I was. The pre-dinner entertainment last night at our leadership conclave in Helsinki was some bindaas dancing by the Bollybeats—a group of Finnish ladies! And the PM of Finland had a ball seeing their performance. India’s soft power.. pic.twitter.com/oGF3xAi1FQ

Bollywood dances keep conquering the world, one country at a time. The latest to fall prey to the charms of its beats and thumkas is Finland. Not excluding Prime Minister Juha Sipilä.
Anand Mahindra, the chairman of the Mahindra Group, posted a video on Twitter (above) on December 20, which showed a troupe of Finnish women, who go by the name “Bollybeats”, dancing to the song Nachde Ne Saare from the film Baar Baar Dekho. Dressed in lehengas, the women got the moves just right and, according to Mahindra, even impressed the Finnish PM.
Another Finnish woman took a different route to Indian dance, choosing Kathak instead, (video below). The performances were part of the pre-dinner entertainment at Mahindra’s 2017 M101 Conference, an annual gathering of the group’s 101 top leaders in Helsinki, Finland.
But it wasn’t all Filmi dancing. This graceful Finnish dancer is a student of kathak and rendered an accomplished performance! Amazing that a nation of just 5m people has individuals with such diverse global appetites.. pic.twitter.com/7hLZtQCWt9
