Watch: Feminism now has its own typeface, and each letter has a message of equality and empowerment
‘K’ is for keep your hands off.
Feminist statements can now be made in a unique typeface, breaking away from the fonts in which patriarchy has broadcast its messages all these years.
The Feminist Letters is a typeface created to amplify calls for gender equality. The video above displays the entire alphabet in this font, with every letter symbolising a specific issue.
For instance, C is for campus assault and safety laws, R is for religious rights, X is for x chromosomes and K is for keep your hands off. The idea is to draw attention to a number of vexing problems relating to gender, ranging from equal pay and reproductive rights to protection against sexual harassment.
