According to Nine News Queensland, Australia, three-year-old Aurora went missing for sixteen hours after she told her grandmother she was going out for a walk to “look for her mother”.

Aurora took 17-year-old Max, who is deaf and partially blind, along with her. After she didn’t return home, her grandmother carried out a manhunt for the girl, involving the police, search parties and their neighbours.

Lucky for Aurora, Max stayed faithfully by her side the entire night and led the search team to her. Max’s act of loyalty earned him an honorary badge from the the local police. The Queensland Police Service posted this message on Facebook: “He stayed with his three-year-old human last night whilst she was lost near Warwick. For keeping her safe until she was found, you’re now an honorary police dog!”
