US President Donald Trump’s draconian policy of separating immigrant families at the border has had the entire country up in arms over the past month, urging the President to reunite children with their parents.
Celebrities in Hollywood have also jumped into the protests. In a four-minute clip, well-known film and television personalities, including Jake Gyllenhaal, Ryan Reynolds and Lena Waithe, read an affidavit from a migrant mother from Honduras named Mirian, who was separated from her 18-month-old son at the Texas border.
The American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU) collaborated with the stars, who read out lines from the heart-breaking letter. The video, titled My Name is Mirian, was posted by the ACLU.
