Watch: Ten-year-old boy of Indian origin wins over judges of The Voice Kids UK with the harmonium
Krishna played a mash-up of a popular Calvin Harris song and a much-beloved Bollywood song.
In a blind round of the talent show The Voice Kids UK 2018, a 10-year-old boy of Indian origin won over the judges with an unexpected performance. Krishna, who lives in London, sang a cover of Calvin Harris & Disciples’ How Deep Is Your Love (video above), and then caught the judges by surprise by fusing it with Balam Pichkari from the Hindi films Yeh Jawani Hai Deewani.
But what really captured the judges’ attention was his skill at playing the harmonium. They were so enamoured of the instrument and the performance that they even went up on stage to give it a try. Will.i.am, one of the judges, tried pumping the bellows himself. Krishna obliged the judges by throwing in a mini-lesson.
The boy won himself a ticket to the next round, where he performed The Chainsmokers and Coldplay’s Something Just Like This with two other contestants, accompanied by his faithful harmonium.
