Sushant Singh Rajput is back, in a kurta and dhoti.

Detective Byomkesh Bakshy!
Dibakar Banerjee puts his spin on the popular fictional Bengali detective created by Saradindu Bandopadhyay.

Banerjee’s movie is meant for a non-Bengali audience, hence the casting of Sushant Singh Rajput rather than any Kolkata actor in the lead role. Anand Tiwari plays Ajit, Byomkesh’s sidekick who first meets the self-described “truth-seeker” in a lodge on the edges of Kolkata’s Chinatown in 1943. The case involves drug runners, a mysterious lodge owner played by Neeraj Kabi, and Swastika Mukherjee’s femme fatale.

Furious 7
The latest edition in the Fast and Furious series doubles up as a tribute to franchise regular Paul Walker, who died in 2013 in a car accident.

Those who are watching the plot developments in between the eardrum-busting vrooming of cars and bikes will know that Furious 7 follows from 2013’s Furious 6. The dependable Jason Statham plays the vengeance-seeking brother of Owen Shaw, who died in the sixth movie. The cast includes Walker, Vin Diesel, Michelle Rodriguez, Dwayne Johnson, Lucas Black (from Tokyo Drift), Kurt Russell and Tony Jaa.
