ART Getting Across: An Exhibition on Borders at India International Centre and Vadehra Contemporary
Organised in collaboration with Max Mueller Bhavan, this group show, which is underway at India International Centre and the Vadehra Contemporary art gallery simultaneously, explores border conflicts. Among the works on display at IIC are those by German photographers Andre Lutzen and Eva Leitolf; conceptual artist Kimsooja from South Korea; and visual artists Amar Kanwar and Roman Signer, who live in Delhi and St. Gallen respectively. This festival, which will showcase cinema from the BRICS (Brazil, Russia, India, China and South Africa) countries, will feature films such as Raam Reddy’s Kannada movie Thithi (2015) about the death of a clan’s oldest member in a village; Brazilian director Marcello Lordello’s Portuguese drama They’ll Come Back (2012) about two children abandoned by their parents; and the English documentary Leo Tolstoy and Mahatma Gandhi: A Double Portrait in the Interior of an Epoch (2016) by Russian filmmakers Galina and Anna Evtushenko.
