Nestlé India on Wednesday said that its Maggi noodles are safe for consumption. The Swiss food and beverage company said that 100% of the samples from its newly manufactured stocks have been cleared by the laboratories, reported The Indian Express.

The company said in a statement, “Nestlé India has conducted over 3500 tests representing over 200 million packs in both national as well as international accredited laboratories for testing and all reports are clear. We will make our best endeavor to commence the sale of Maggi noodles within this month as well as continue engaging with states where permissions are needed or specific directions may be necessary.”

Last month, all samples of Maggi noodles passed tests ordered by the Bombay High Court. The court had set aside a ban on the product by the Food Safety and Standards Authority of India and asked for new tests, saying the food labs that had tested the samples were not authorised. The court had said Nestle India could re-launch the product if the results were clean. Maggi noodles had been banned by the FSSAI and the Maharashtra Food and Drug Authority for containing excessive lead.
