India restricted West Indies to 153/7 in second one-day international to win the match with five wickets to spare.
Indian women’s team beat West Indies by five wickets to win the series with one ODI to spare at Vijaywada on Sunday. India restricted West Indies to 153/7 with Jhulan Goswami (2/28) and Ekta Bisht (2/28) striking in regular intervals. For West Indies, Deandra Dottin scored a plucky 63.
India got off to shaky start as Thirush Kamini was given out on two for obstructing the field. However, Smriti Mandhana (44) and Deepti Sharma (32) stabilized the innings before the duo were sent back to the pavilion with India on 111/3. They were replaced by skipper Mithali Raj and Harmanpreet Kaur. However, Kaur had a short stay at the wicket and was out for 8 leaving India on 4/125. Raj played a brilliant knock of 45 runs. In the end, India won with five wickets to spare. India had won the first one-day international by six wickets. India next face West Indies on Wednesday, November 16 in the final one-day international.
