Veteran journalist Dileep Padgaonkar dies at 72
He began his career in journalism at the age of 24 as the Paris correspondent of The Times of India.

Senior journalist Dileep Padgaonkar died in a Pune hospital on Friday. A former editor with The Times of India, Padgaonkar had diabetes and kidney-related problems. Padgaonkar was admitted to the hospital on November 18. He was 72.
Padgaonkar began his career in journalism at the age of 24 as the Paris correspondent of The Times of India. In 1988, he was appointed the editor. He served as the editor of the newspaper for six years. He was also part of a three-member interlocutors’ team selected by the Centre in 2010 to hold talks with the people in Jammu and Kashmir.
People from the media industry and other walks of life took to Twitter to offer their condolences.
