The Staff Selection Commission (SSC) has issued another advisory to aspirants to submit online applications for Multi-Tasking (Non-Technical) Staff (MTS) and Havaldar (CBIC & CBN) Examination 2023, prior to the deadline. Applicants can register for the examination on the official website ssc.nic.in till July 21 (upto 11.00 PM).

The SSC MTS (Tier-I) Computer-Based Exam is scheduled to be held in September. The recruitment drive aims to fill up a total of tentatively 3954 posts out of which the vacancies under MTS are 2196 while the vacancies for Havaldar in CBIC and CBN are 1758.

According to an official notification posted on the Commission’s official website, “Candidates that aspiring candidates for Multi-Tasking (Non-Technical) Staff, and Havaldar (CBIC & CBN) Examination, 2023, should submit their online application much before the closing date i.e. 21.07.2023 and not to wait till the last date to avoid the possibility of disconnection/inability or failure to login to the website on account of heavy traffic on the servers during the closing days.” The commission has also stated that there will be no further extension of last date for submission of the applications under any circumstances.

The exam will be held for recruitment of Multi-Tasking (Non-Technical) Staff (in Pay Level-1 as per Pay Matrix of 7th Pay Commission), a General Central Service Group ‘C’ Non-Gazetted, Non-Ministerial post in various Ministries/Departments/ Offices of the Government of India and various Constitutional Bodies/ Statutory Bodies/ Tribunals, etc., in different States/ Union Territories and Havaldar (in Pay Level-1 as per Pay Matrix of 7th Pay Commission), a General Central Service Group ‘C’ Non-Gazetted, Non-Ministerial post in Central Board of Indirect Taxes and Customs (CBIC) and Central Bureau of Narcotics (CBN) under Department of Revenue, Ministry of Finance.

Eligibility Criteria

Age Limit (as on August 1, 2023):

  • 18-25 years for MTS and Havaldar in CBN (Department of Revenue).
  • 18-27 years for Havaldar in CBIC (Department of Revenue) and few posts of MTS.

Upper age limit relaxation applicable to candidates falling under the reserved category.

Educational Qualification: Candidates applying for the SSC MTS 2023 examination should be Class 10 or Matric pass or equivalent from a recognised Board. More details in the notification.

Candidates have to pay Rs 100 (women/ ST/ ST/ PWD/ ESM exempted).

  2. Register and login to the one time registration portal
  3. Click on ‘Apply’ in ‘Multi Tasking (Non-Technical) Staff Examination 2023
  4. Fill out the form, upload the documents and pay the fees
  5. Download and take a print out for future reference
