Congress demands time-bound probe into SSC CGL paper leak, sacking of Jitendra Singh
SSC CGL 2017 has been under the scanner due to the recent paper leak scam
The Congress on Monday demanded a time-bound probe into the paper leak involving Staff Selection Commission’s (SSC) Combined Graduate Level (CGL) 2017 Tier II examination. It also demanded resignation of the Minister of State Jitendra Singh under whose ministry the Commission functions.
At a press conference the Congress communication in-charge Randeep Surjewala said, “Irregularities, paper leaks, proxy candidates, fake centres, lack of audit and supervision, questionable software and deliberate collusion have put a question mark on the future of India’s youth. No wonder, the protesting students are calling SSC as ‘Super Scam Commission’.”
Mr. Surjewala also commented on the silence of Prime Minister on the scam. He said, “Will Modiji show the courage of conviction to secure the future of India’s youth or will he remain on a perpetual ‘maun vrat (vow of silence)?”
Mr. Surjewala alleged that the process of conducting the exam is outsourced to private players. “Shockingly, SSC has no such secure computer/server in the SSC Office at New Delhi’s CGO complex. Paper is uploaded by the private contractor in his owner server based in Chennai, over which, the SSC neither has access nor control. Naturally, security and secrecy have both been compromised,” he alleged.
He commented against the prime minister wherein he said, “Instead of giving two crore jobs per year, the career of two crore youths, who apply every year to SSC for around 50,000 vacancies, has been jeopardised.”
Mr. Surjewala also claimed that the SSC scam together with Vyapam scam in Madhya Pradesh has jeopardised the future of youth in India.
Earlier Congress President on Friday had termed the scam as ‘nationalisation of Vyapam’ and asked the government to not play with the future of country’s youth.
