The Punjab State Education Board (PSEB) declared the Class 12 or Higher Secondary Certificate (HSC) exam results on Monday, April 23rd, and has released the merit list for the exam. Students can check their results on the official PSEB website, pseb.ac.in. Girls have outshined boys once again this year.

The overall pass percentage for the PSEB 2018 Class 12 exam is 65.97%; out of the 300,417 students who took the exam, 198,199 passed. This is an improvement from the PSEB 2017 exam results, where the pass percentage was 62.36%.

The pass percentage of girls taking the PSEB 2018 Class 12 exam was much higher than that of boys, with 78.25% of girls passing the exam. In contrast, only 60.46% of the boys passed the PSEB exam.

The top two positions (on the academics-cum-sports merit list) have been bagged by Prachi Gaur and Pushwinder Kaur from BCM Senior Secondary School, Ludhiana. On the academics-only merit list, Puja Joshi from Teja Singh Sutantar Memorial Senior Secondary School, Ludhiana has topped, scoring 98%. Most of the students on the top 10 list are from Teja Singh Sutantar Memorial Senior Secondary School, Ludhiana.

With the Punjab PSEB Class 12 exam for 2018, the board for the first time abolished the marks moderation system. The moderation system allowed grace marks to be allotted to students to improve their final score.

How to check PSEB 2018 Class 12 exam results

  1. Log on to the official PSEB website (pseb.ac.in).
  2. Click on ‘Results’.
  3. Enter your roll number, name, mobile number and email ID, and select your stream to access your results.

The board is expected to release the PSEB 2018 results for the Senior Secondary Certificate (SSC) or Class 10 exam sometime in the month of May.
