Railway Recruitment Board (RRB) announced the first stage examination schedule for the recruitment of ALP and Technicians today, July 23rd. The first stage of the much sought-after RRB recruitment examination will be held on August 9th, according to multiple reports. The first stage exam will be a computer-based test.

The RRB released several notifications for various positions, among which some were for Group C ALP and technicians as well as Group D posts. Under this RRB group C and D recruitment, a total of 26,502 posts are available - 17,673 posts for assistant locomotive pilots and 8,829 posts for technicians.

According to NDTV, RRB has announced that the admit card for the examination will be released 4 days before the examination, so probably on August 5th the admit cards will be available. Candidates can take mock tests which will be available on the website from July 26th. RRB will also release the exam city, exam date, and session for individual candidates on regional RRB websites on July 26th.

The computer-based, objective-type test for the post of ALP and technicians will be of 60 minutes’ duration and will ask candidates to answer 75 questions on mathematics, general intelligence and reasoning, general science, and general awareness on current affairs, NDTV reports.

The recruitment drive was in the news with even international press coverage as more than 2 crore candidates had applied for around 89,000 positions with a lot of the candidates being overqualified for the positions.
