SESD released the revised schedule for the Mumbai first year junior college (FYJC) 2018 admissions today, July 26th. Students who have registered to participate in the counselling can access the revised admission schedule on the official website, mumbai.11thadmission.net.

School Education and Sports Department (SESD) had to pause the admission proceedings due to a plea filed against the practice of minority institutions surrendering their quotas for CAP or central admissions process. The plea which was later converted into a PIL was filed in the Nagpur Bench of the Bombay High Court. The High Court in its decision on July 25th allowed in-house quota seats to be surrendered to CAP. The decision will add 12,000 seats to the CAP pool.

After the decision, the SESD released the revised schedule according to which the third merit list will be declared on July 31st. The students can fill the part 1 and 2 of admission form on July 27th and 28th. The admissions based on the third merit list will be done from July 31st to August 2nd. As per Times of India, around 1.8 lakh seats are up for grabs for the third round of admissions.

The department has already declared the first and second merit list and the third merit list had to be put on hold due to the court proceedings. Two more rounds of allotment and counselling are remaining and the fourth merit list is expected to be declared on August 7th. Students can fill the admission forms for the fourth merit list on August 3rd and 4th.
