The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) could declare the results of the University Grants Commission’ National Eligibility Test (UGC NET) sometime this week. According to multiple reports, the UGC NET results 2018 are expected to be released by August 4th.

The CBSE released answer keys to the CBSE NET 2018 exam on July 24th. It was anticipated in an earlier report that this year CBSE was on a verge of creating history by releasing the results within a month’s time of conducting the NET exam.

It should be noted, however, that the CBSE has not officially confirmed or denied these reports, and thus the results could be delayed beyond the expected release date of August 4th. The conclusion is being drawn as one anonymous CBSE source was quoted by the Times of India as saying that the CBSE is working on releasing the UGC NET results before August 4th.

The responsibility of conducting the NET exam will be transferred to the National Testing Agency (NAT) from next year onwards. This is the last year that the CBSE conducts the UGC NET examination.

The UGC NET 2018 examination was conducted on July 8th, for which a total of 11.5 lakh candidates appeared. The exam was held in more than 2,000 centres across the country and candidates took the exam on 84 different subjects.
