A new 2018 model of the Reanult Kwid, the car with an SUV-inspired design and affordable price tag, was launched today, with no price changes. The Renault Kwid 2018 is offered at Rs. 2.67 lakhs, which is the same price as the outgoing edition. And what’s more, the French car-maker has added host of features to this already value-for-money offering. The car is available in 8 variants, and the new range is offered in 0.8L and 1.0L SCe powertrains in manual and AMT options.

The all new feature-loaded range, as the company calls it, gets an integrated reverse parking camera, a rear 12V socket for passenger convenience, and a rear ELR (Emergency Locking Retractor) across all variants, which allows the rear seat belt to freely extend and retract with occupant movement, yet locks the belt during sudden deceleration.

The top range KWID AMT variants additionally get a Traffic Assist feature that helps the vehicle crawl forward in slow-moving traffic and also prevents it from rolling back on slopes, the company claims. The car manufactured in Renault’s Oragadam, Chennai, facility has been a true game-changer and volume driver for Renault India, selling more than 2,50,000 units so far.

On the visual front, the new Kwid sports a new razor edge chrome front grille, highlighting the Renault diamond logo. Whereas the KWID Climber boasts of ‘Climber’ insignia along with orange exterior mirrors and silver finish with orange highlights on the front bumper. The Climber Edition has been targeted at the ‘new generation urbanite’, the carmaker says.

The latest edition of the Renault Kwid comes with a 4-year / 1 lakh km (whichever is earlier) warranty, along with Road Side Assistance at no extra cost. With the Kwid Climber, customers can choose from a range of six colours: Fiery Red, Planet Grey, Moonlight Silver, Ice Cool White, Outback Bronze and Electric Blue. The base model is priced at Rs.2.67 lakhs, which goes all the way up to Rs.4.59 Lakh for the top-end Climber AMT 1.0L model.
