The Maharashtra Council of Agricultural Education and Research (MCAER), Pune, has released a notification for the commencement of admission to agricultural postgraduate courses for the year 2018-19. The prospectus of the admission process and course details was released on July 30th and the application process began on the same day.

Candidates interested in applying for postgraduate courses in the field of agriculture in the state of Maharashtra can apply at the official MCAER website, maha-agriadmission.in. The last date to apply for MCAER admission is August 9th.

The Council is conducting its admission process for 15 postgraduate courses, which include MSc Agriculture, MSc Horticulture, MSc Forestry, MSc Agricultural Biotechnology, and MBA Agriculture. The detailed eligibility for each of the courses and the colleges offering the courses can be accessed in the prospectus.

There are 1,322 seats available for the agricultural postgraduate courses in the state, of which 855 are for MSc Agriculture. MSc Horticulture and MBA Agriculture are allotted 134 and 95 seats, respectively.

The Council will declare a provisional merit list on August 13th and, after taking into consideration the grievances against the list, the final merit list will be declared on August 20th. Here are the important dates to keep in mind for the Maharashtra 2018 Agriculture PG course admission.

Here’s how to register for the 2018 PG courses in Agriculture

  1. Log on the official Maharashtra agriculture admission website.    
  2. Click on ‘Register’.
  3. Read all the instructions carefully and click on ‘Yes’.
  4. Enter all the relevant details and click on Register.
  5. Once registered, login from the home page and upload scanned copies of all the necessary documents, along with your signature and passport-size photographs.
  6. Pay the application fee of Rs.1,500 for unreserved category and Rs.750 for reserved category.
  7. Submit the application.

The Council has stated that the merit list for the PG course admissions will give 70% weightage to marks obtained in Common Entrance Test conducted by the MAUEB and 30% weightage to CGPA in graduation.
