Motorola has launched its Z series flagship, the Moto Z3, for the US market. The company claimed it to be the ‘world’s first 5G-upgradable smartphone’, which can be done by snapping on a ‘Moto Mod’, an accessory that has to be purchased separately.

Other noteworthy features of The Moto Z3 include turbopower charging, a large display and compatibility with Moto Mods to customize the phone.

This 6-inch device with an edge-to-edge super AMOLED display has notably visible bezels on the top and bottom. However, it’s the battery that steals the spotlight here.

The touted ‘all-day battery’ and the fast charging feature supported by Motorola’s in-house turbopower technology are interesting features. As per company’s claims, the smartphone could draw half a day’s power with just half an hour of charging.

What stands out in the design department of the Moto Z3 is the placement of the fingerprint sensor. It is located on the side for comfortable access. This also allows users to authenticate apps and make payments in an instant with the unique fingerprint function.

Motorola Moto Z3 price

The Moto Z3 price in the US has been set at $480. The Moto Z3 will go on sale exclusively through Verizon in Ceramic Black, starting August 16th, NDTV gadgets reports.

Adding a zest of uniqueness to Motorola devices are the Moto Mods, and the Moto Z3 gets a host of those, too. Apart from the 5G upgrade mod powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon X50 modem for 5G networks, the smartphone can be equipped with the insta-share projector mod, the stereo speaker mod, the 360 camera mod, the gamepad mod, and the Hasselblad True Zoom mod among others.

Aside from the official launch, responding to a query on Twitter, the company has said that it won’t be launching any more Moto Zs this year, putting an end to speculations over the launch of the Z3 Force.
