Indian Railways to only use integrated Helpline No. 139 from 1st January 2020

Indian Railways has done away with multiple rail enquiry helpline numbers from 1st January 2020. Passengers can now seek assistance or information using just two numbers and the ‘Rail Madad’ app.
The Indian Railways announced that for the convenience of passengers, only the integrated railway helpline number 139 (train enquiries) and 182 (security related) will be functional. The ‘Rail Madad’ app was launched by Indian Railways on July 15, 2019. From 1st January 2020, ie today, all other railway helpline numbers and portals will become ineffective except 139, 182 and the integrated assistance portal - Rail Madad. Passengers can call or SMS at the two numbers.
The general complaint number - 138, catering service - 1800111321, vigilance - 152210, accident / safety - 1072, Clean My Coach - 58888/138, SMS complaint - 9717630982 and complaint management system support portal will be become ineffective from today, 1st January 2020.
Features of Rail Madad app:
- Rail MADAD registers a complaint with minimum inputs and issues unique ID. It relays the complaint online to relevant officials for immediate action.
- Passenger is then notified on the action taken on the complaint via SMS
- The app displays various helpline numbers (e.g., Security, Child helpline etc) and provides direct calling facility for immediate assistance.
