Soon after the Supreme Court on Thursday morning described Delhi Lieutenant Governor Najeeb Jung’s latest effort to solve the political crisis in the state as a "positive move", Twitter erupted with hate tweets about Aam Aadmi Party chief Arvind Kejriwal.
On Tuesday, Kejriwal had accused the Lieutenant Governor of being an agent of the Bharatiya Janata Party. In February, his Aam Aadmi Party stepped down after just 49 days in power after failing to pass a motion in the assembly to establish the position of an anti-corruption ombudsman.
With the Supreme Court statement, memes, poems and quotes embedded with pictures of the former chief minister of Delhi erupted on social media. From calling him an escapist and criticising his accusation against the Lieutenant Governor, #kejriwalquotes quickly trended.
