Yet another remake of a Telugu hit, and yet another sequel.
Tevar
The 2003 Telugu hit Okkadu, starring Mahesh Babu, inspired a successful Tamil remake Ghilli and has now been made in Hindi as Tevar.
Starring Arjun Kapoor, Sonakshi Sinha and Manoj Bajpayee, the action comedy has been directed by Amit Sharma is set in Agra. Bajpayee’s crooked politician is forcing Sinha’s character Radhika into marrying him, but his plans go awry when Radhika runs away and is rescued by Pintu, a kabbadi champion who also happens to be brave, intelligent, tough and chivalrous.
Big Eyes
Tim Burton’s biopic is based on Margaret Keane, the American artist whose husband, Walter, took credit for her paintings for several years.
Christoph Waltz and Amy Adams play the Keanes. She is the creator of the well-known paintings featuring big-eyed children, while he is the impresario who pretends to own the hand that moved over the frame. Adams might get a few nominations for her performance as a proto-feminist who yearns to put her own name on her works.
Taken 3
The third and final round of the Taken franchise sees Liam Neeson back in the saddle and back on the run.
This time, Neeson’s former spook Bryan Mills is accused this time of having killed his wife. Mills defends his name in only the way he can. Also starring Forest Whitaker and Dougray Scott, the movie has been directed by action specialist Olivier Megaton, who has Transporter 3 and Taken 2 to his credit.
